Have A Heart for Annette
Here is her story, told in her words, about the hurts from the past that led her to become homeless, the help she currently receives at Serve City, and the hope she holds for her future moving forward.
Hurt – I had family issues. I wasn’t getting along with my sister. When I started out, I came to Ohio from Georgia. Me and X fiancé were having problems. I came to Ohio with my sister. I had more problems with her.
Help –I came up on city the bus in 2020 or 2021. I was staying at expensive hotels. I hated staying at hotels. Eventually I decided to come to Serve City. Friends told me about it. Serve City was great. Wonderful. Fun. Loving people made me feel warm and comfortable. Ms. Amber helped me. She did a referral for the Y. I had gone before but they were full. I filled out an application and it went great. I went to Goodman place first for four months. Now I’m here at the new building. It’s going great. It’s gorgeous. Beautiful. Like a magazine. Reminds of the hotel a little.
Hope – I’m a very creative person. I love riding bikes and love working out in gyms. I’m an artist. I sing and write music. I’m into fashion and design. I love to do hair. I know some of the girls from Serve City here. I make a lot of clothes. I look forward to working out a Planet Fitness in Franklin again and to working out at home.
