Full-Circle Hope: Serve City has a Name an Executive Director

Serve City names Dustin Bowman as Executive Director.

At Serve City, we believe that true transformation happens when hope meets opportunity. Today, we are overjoyed to share an exciting milestone in our organization’s story: Dustin Bowman has officially been appointed as Serve City’s new Executive Director!  

Dustin’s appointment is more than a leadership announcement. Dustin's story is a living testament to our mission of restoring dignity, rebuilding community, and renewing hope.  

From the Frontlines to Leadership

Dustin’s path to leadership didn't start in an executive office. Over the past several years, he has served on the frontlines of our ministry, beginning his journey on the shelter floor where our mission work often begins.  

Through relentless dedication, operational excellence, and an unmistakable heart for people, Dustin steadily took on additional responsibilities within the organization. For the past six months, he has stepped up as Interim Executive Director, guiding our team, expanding community awareness, and strengthening vital partnerships across Butler County. Under his leadership, alongside our dedicated staff and local partners, Serve City’s ministry is stronger and more resilient than ever.  

A Deeply Personal Heart for Ministry

What makes Dustin a natural leader for Serve City is his deep, firsthand understanding of the neighbors who walk through our doors.  Prior to joining our staff, Dustin stayed in Serve City’s emergency shelter as he navigated his own battles with addiction and homelessness. That journey of healing and stability gave him a profound appreciation for the dignity and God-given potential within every single person.  

"Serve City was a safe place that caught me when I had nowhere else to turn and provided me with a spark of hope that changed the trajectory of my life," Dustin shared. "Having walked in the shoes of the neighbors we serve, I know firsthand the power of the gospel and being met with love, grace, and real community. I am deeply honored to step into this role and fight alongside our passionate team, board, and community partners as we continue building an ecosystem where every single person has a path to find home."  

Dustin’s passion for ministry extends well beyond our shelter walls. A gifted musician and worship leader, he uses his talents to encourage others through music singing and playing the keyboard three times a week at City on a Hill in Cincinnati, as well as leading worship on Friday nights for "The Depot" recovery service right here in Hamilton.

At home, Dustin is supported by his loving family. He and his wife, Cherish, have been married since 2006 and are the proud parents of two sons, Christian (16) and Ryan (14).
