Zola's Story - Finding Purpose
There is a profound truth in the work of overcoming trauma and addiction: the people closest to the pain are often the ones best equipped to lead the healing. At Serve City, we often talk about how our community is a network where every single person matters. But networks aren’t just built on policies and structures. Communities are woven together by human beings who refuse to give up on each other. If you want to see what that look likes in action, you only need to look at

A Young Hero’s Journey: Ryan’s Story
As a parent, watching your child fight an invisible monster leaves you feeling powerless.
To keep a close eye on my young warrior, I asked Ryan to come help at the shelter. He started small but meaningful: serving meals to participants, answering phones, and manning the buzzer at the front door to greet people with a smile as he opened it for them.

Johnny's Story - Finding Home
Having a roof over your head is important, but it’s not the same as finding a home. Many people experiencing homelessness face challenges that make it hard to find stability. Johnny was tired of the chaos of homelessness and the struggles of addiction. His journey started with lots of uncertainty, but it wasn’t solved by finding a place to sleep. When he first connected with Serve City, Johnny was just looking for a place to sleep and ended up finding a way back to himself.

A Beacon on B Street: Shining Hope for Butler County Neighbors
Every hero’s journey begins with someone shining a light on the path—and this December, Kruger & Hodges Attorneys at Law have done exactly that for Serve City. Through their generosity, our ministry has been featured on their billboard along B Street, positioned right beside the iconic railway arch in Hamilton. Their kindness isn’t new; since this summer, they’ve been using their platform to elevate local charities who are making a real impact in our community. At Serve City,
